* Total partners with Vodacom Tanzania; customers to fuel and pay
through M-Pesa
* Vodacom's over 60,000 M-Pesa agents to facilitate these

Total Tanzania customers are now set to pay for fuel through M-Pesa,
following the company's partnership with Vodacom Tanzania
Motorists will now make use of the companies' widespread networks reliably,
and will use mobile phone technological developments (M-Pesa) from across
the country.
Speaking during the launch of the partnership, Vodacom Tanzania External
Relations Manager, Salum Mwalim, noted that the new development will go a
long way in embracing technology in the energy sector as mobile money
transaction becomes crucial in today's world.
"In a society where carrying cash in the pocket is becoming increasingly
unsafe, M-Pesa has stepped to as an alternative means," said Mwalim, adding
that, "We look forward to have more such partnerships in the market. Vodacom
sincerely thanks Total Tanzania for this new development and we assure
customers that M-Pesa will serve them in a safe and reliable manner."
In her speech, the Development, Quality & Training Manager of Total
Tanzania, Maria Lebby, expressed that with the new partnership, motorists
and vehicles owners will make good use of the MPESA service. "It is easier
to have cash on your phone than carry cash because of safety reasons. So I
call upon everyone to make well use of this new development."
"Total operates more than 20 service stations across the country. Motorists
are therefore assured of coming across one of our stations when in need to
purchase fuel or any other Total product and pay through M-pesa regardless
where they are. Vodacom's M-Pesa service takes pride of over 60,000 agents
spread across the country, who will always be on standby to serve customers.
With this, the new partnership is set to be a big success, as more such
partnerships are also expected.
